So far, the only access to the lazarette that I know of is through the starboard laz hatch, after removing the liner which forms the storage for lines. It has wooden handles to facilitate lifting it out.
In the space down below are some important things, like the steering quadrant, autopilot drive, and so on.
Access is nearly impossible. I have been in there a couple of times, both difficult and scary. And I'm not a big guy.
Has anyone found a better way to access that stuff? It doesn't appear to me that the space opens into the cabin in any way.
