Just got back from the NAS Jacksonville Marina. It's been a rough couple of days waiting to get down there and check out the damage from Fay. The good news is no one was hurt, and Acephalous only has some gel-coat scratches. Many others weren't that lucky. There's at least 5 sunk and they're still trying to account for the boat that were on mooring bouys. It was my first big blow at this marina, I'll be parking up the Ortega river for the next one.

I'm waiting

This crazy Fay is supposed to blow through here tomorrow. Forecasts are all over the board. What I'm hearing now is to expect winds from 30 to 40 with gusts to 50 or 60, and a tidal surge of 2 to 3 feet. Lots of rain. Just came in from securing the boat, and doubling up dock lines. Don't think there will be much come from it here, but you never know and can't be too careful.

We got lots of rain

and the wind was no big deal. Gusty but nothing major. I am glad my boat is on the trailer in the back rather than on the water in Shell Point though. It has been a great way to locate a leak I have been looking for, I finally found it this morning.
