George Kobernus or anyone that has replaced the 2:1 system with a 4:1 system. Could you please give some step by step instructions on how to remove the old and add the new? Thanks for your help, Jay

Raise and lower the Rudder

The process is fairly simple. This works best with the boat out of the water, (although if you are a glutton for punishment and never drop anything into the water, it can be done). This summer I had to take it apart to replace the lower line and I was very, very, very careful and only dropped one nut and a washer.
You just take the bolt holding the upper bracket out, disconnet the lower line and pull the block out. Replace the one block in the rudder with two mini-blocks. There are several pictures in the website that shows what it should look like.
