Responding to Bosman's photo...
That SS attachment on the port rear transom looks like a place to STORE an outboard (when raised - instead of putting it on the stern rail) OR, when lowered, an attachment to USE the outboard for powering the main boat (i.e. as opposed to the dinghy). The boat in the photo looks like it's about 25 -27 feet, and perhaps the O/B is its main or only propulsion?
I have a 33 foot Hunter with a 29HP diesel, but have often wondered how I could attach my dinghy's outboard to the H33's transom for emergency use - or maybe just for puttering around the harbor and/or anchorage.
Am I right in assuming that is the purpose of the SS attachment? If so, anybody know where they can be acquired? If not, what do others think of the idea of such a flexible solution to O/B storage?
PS. sorry to hijack this thread on syn teak - and BTW I do agree that the boat in Bosman's photo looks very sharp
