Bill, Question on a switching system allowing two remote SL72 displays to be connected to one RADAR array. I know that the HSB system does this but I purchased the less expensive system last year and would like to add another display to it. I would use one display at a time and do not need any of the other HSB functions as the existing electronics on board are of a different brand. I would like to have one at the helm and the second at the Nav station. I would just use a contact switcher to route signals between the two displays. Any thoughts? Concerns? as to this possibility. Thanks, Tom

Second Display

The best way to do this would be to get an scanner extension cable and run it from the back of the first station to the back of the new station. If you want to run the first station then the cable would be plugged directly into it. If you want to run the second station then you would unplug the scanner cable from the back of the display and plug in the extension cable. The extension cable is then plugged into, and can remain plugged into, the second display. I can not recommend splicing or switching this cable. This would be the most failsafe way to add the second display in your non-HSB installation.
