Seems like the Honda 50 4 stoke could push the boat faster. It revs up to 5500-6000 rpm pretty easy. has anyone tried increasing prop size or? thanks in advance for any info.

prop cup and pitch
whats your current prop pitch? is it SS? Aluminum's flex. ss should help. (on a open fish) I've increased the pitch while also increasing the cup (or double cup), to add top end while without sacrificeing too much torque. I've also carried 2 props, one for speed, and one for skiing... it will be harder to get up on plane with more pitch, so sometimes you can cup the tips to help with that... But If your already turning 6k, I'd think you could increase it just a bit. (drop rev's to 5500-5800) then again, most important thing to me would be being able to slog it out in 4-6'seas. how much faster do you really want to go... Oh, if you hit bottom with an alum, you break the prop, with stainless props, usually its the lower unit...
