The switches in the electrical panel of our 1994 23.5 physically fell apart. Couldn't find any direct replacements, so I wired in a new panel from West Marine. Anyone else had a similar problem? What a pain in the neck.

Mine too

I have a 94 also, the rings to hold the switches in place have been falling apart... none of the switches have feel apart yet but all are loose. What model electrical panel did you use? Does it fit like the other one?

Switch Rings

The nuts that hold the switches in place are plastic and tend to break. You can get metal ones from Radio Shack or an electronics supply house and screw them in. If you use a little lock-tite they should stay in a long time.

Ditto

The switches on my 1994 23.5 began falling apart the first month I owned the boat, purchased new. After several replacements, my dealer reimbursed me for the cost of buying a new Sea-Dog panel, like the one which I had installed in a previous boat and which is still working fine in my 23.5. Hunter should have recalled those original panels. It was one of the very few disappointments experienced with my boat. Dale

23.5 Switches

Does this switch problem only pertain to the 94 version of the H23.5? I have a 96 and have not seen this problem. Mike S/V Sail La Vie
