Those of you with 29.5's or other boats with a similar layout- do you have a problem securing the salon table while underway. No matter how hard I crank down the stop, the table will still swing in heavier seas. Any suggestions for a fix, other than moving it off to the side and securing it with a bungee?

Surf or tie up

You have two choices: a) let the kids table surf. When our kids were small they use to hang on to the table and swing with the tide. They had a great time. b) When we anticipate much wind or wave action, I tie the table off using a nylon strap with quick clips. Push the table full port and put the table leaf down. Lock it with the thing-a-ma bob. Run the strap over the thingamabob (so the pressure holds it in) and back to the stainless steel bar on the port side.

tie it down

I added a small strap under each of the table/bed supports and two light cords with snap hooks to the underside of the table. when underway we simply snap the lines to the straps and the table stays neatly in place. Good Sailing Bill Murray S/V Good Faith H29.5 #175 (1995)
