swing up tiller on a Hunter 22

I have a 1984 Hunter 22. The tiller does not go up. has anyone converted this type to a swing up. It currently is a u shaped bracket with three bolts into the rudder. Any suggestions. I was considering having one made with one bolt through the rudder so it can swing up. what do ya think. Also what gauge stainless would be the best.

My Hunter 22's tiller swings up

My tiller on my Hunter 22 swings up. It is nice for when you are in port and want to use the cockpit table. Mine has only one bolt through the handle to allow it to do this. I am not sure of the gauge of the stainless steel, but when in doubt I would go heavy because there is a lot of pressure on that area when you are sailing.

Have to get to the boat

Here is the only picture that I have right here. I am about 1 1/2 hours from my boat. I will go there two weekends from now so it will be a while.
