Swing Keel Vibration when close hauled?

I took my 1985 Hunter 23 out in moderate wind (about 15 mph) recently and noticed a intermittent vibration that seems to be coming from the keel when sailing on a close haul or close reach. The vibration seemed to come and go at times. How anyone else with an '85 experienced this? I am new to this boat and have sailed it twice since it was put in the water.

Cable Tension

Hello,

I used to have a Macgregor 25 that did the same thing. If the keel winch cable is stretched tight when the keel is down, the cable will vibrate like a guitar string. Lower the keel all the way down and then give it some extra slack. That should take care of the vibration from the cable.

Same here. My '85 does the same thing. Probably needs the bushing replaced. But other than a low vibrating hum at times doesn't bother me. Unless it gets fatigued and falls off then i'll have a problem
