I have recently purchased an Ericson 25'. The boat had been on the hard for some time. When the boat was launched the swing keel would not drop, after a little tug or two it did relaase But will not retract. The retreving cable is tight and does not appear to be unhooked from the retrieving mecanism. Before I jump into a major project, is it a condition of the design that the pivot could be stiff from the long lay up ?. If some one could advise as too the trail of the retrieval cable, internal or external I would be most appreciative. When the keel is fully extended should it be at a 90 angle too the bottom of hull or should it angle towards the stern ?. Any help would be great & a rough drawing of the retrieval would be of help.
