I have a 25' US Yacth and will go under the boat when the water warms a little more but for now has any one ever seen an arrangement like this concerning the keel (hopefully picture attached). Most boats that have this arrangment are smaller than a 25'. There is no pivot bolt that is visable like any other boat I have seen (which is not many). The arrangment appears to have come from the factory this way. I am afraid to pull to hard on the line (rope) as it may be some what rotten. What pressure I have put on it nothing budges. The water wicks up the line so the other end is in the water. The only access fron the top is just big enough for the line. I can run a wire down by the line and I hit the top of the keel at 18" or about sole level. What ever kind of keel it has can not be very heavy with this kind of arrangement? Any thoughts?
