swing keel help

I would like to work on my '83 swing keel catalina 25. The keel has rust, bumps and is in need of sanding, filling bottom paint etc. How do I get it off while it is on a trailer, and is it hard to put back on? Please help. Thanks Shelby

if you go to the forum archive's and type in catalina,, 22ft, small craft.. you'll come up with a few previous discussions on how to remove the keel and replace it..you are gonna have to raise the boat and then have something handy to put the keel on for moving it around. i havent done mine yet but it is in the near future..mine weighs in around 550 pounds. good luck...
