my cable broke off at the keel and was looking for a cable size and how it attaches to the keel, I'm moored on a buoy so I can't get it on the trailer until i fix it in the water, i have a diver at my disposal but wanted to get him the parts up front to save time and cost. any input appreciated.

cable

the cable is 3/16...you must use the 7/19 wire rope type of cable,,,it is attached to the keel via a bolt,,,mine was 1/2 by 2-1/2 inch.also...have enough cable lenth to go aroung the crank spool at least 3 times with the keel all the way down,,,Micro press a thinmble or two at the end,,and I backed mine up with two washers either side of the thimble,,and double nutted it to lock it in without to much pressure so the cable can swivel on the bolt,,,good luck

keel stuff

My 85 M25 uses a 3/8 stainless bolt to attach the cable. I think the length was 3 1/2". I'd take a small assortment of sizes to the boat to insure getting it done in one trip. I'm pretty sure the cable length is 11 ft. tho 12 would'nt hurt.
