Question, has anyone added a swim platform to the starboard side of an O Day 25 in place of the boarding ladder. If so were there any structural concerns?

Question, has anyone added a swim platform to the starboard side of an O Day 25 in place of the boarding ladder. If so were there any structural concerns?

I insalled a platform on my Oday 25 this sprinng it turned out quite well I just had to put a backer board on the mounting bolts. It has supported 350# so far and no problems. I purchased it from Overtons and had to modifie the brackets a little. My wife loves it, it has made swimming a lot easer getting on and off the boat. The platform also has a ladder attached to it.

No the platform is not in the water when heeled over. When sailing I put my fenders above the plateform to my stern rail and the brackets help to hold them from swinging and draiging in the water.

At first I thought- a swim platform on a sailboat? But more I think about it the more it sounds like a good idea. I'd like to see a pic.

Thank you for the reply. The swim platform makes it easier for grandkids to get in and out while anchored for swimming. If possible could I get more informtion on the backing plate size and location you selected on the stern for the platform.
