My swim ladder's flat plastic rungs covering the stainless round tubing are breaking apart. Basically, I need wood or plastic that will give a flat tread stepping surface mounted on top of round tubing. Does anyone have any good ideas for replacing them? I don't have much machining or woodworking capability. Thanks, BrianW

Check WM cat. They have plastic steps that bolt over metal rungs. Have used them on our boat for 3 years now, work well. Side advantage, you down burn your feet on a hot metal ladder when using. Not too expensive

If you want to make some, try the recycled plastic decking from Lowe;s or Home Depot. -Paul

A few years ago I purchased teak ladder treads from Thai Teak in Thailand from their website (www.thaiteakmarine.com). They require a money order in advance. I was a bit nervous about it, but corresponded regularly with the contact at the company. The shipment came as promised. IF I recall, it was under $100.00 for the set.

Thanks for some great options! If anyone has any more ideas or sources, please feel free to chime in! I'll report back to you which road I followed. Thanks again. BrianW
