I have a crazy question: I have a 30T shoal-draft keel. If I found someone out there with a 30T deep-draft keel who wanted a shallower draft, could we unbolt and detach our keels and swap them? Am I crazy? I imagine the keel bolts would have to match up exactly, and because each boat may be a little different that may be a problem. And the actual act of pulling the keel off will do some damage to the glass on the bottom, but it seems like it may be theoretically possible. The reason I ask is because I'm contemplating, far in the future, taking my boat out of the bay and into the big, bad ocean.
