Swamped Cockpit

These questions concern specifically the 75-84 H27. Has anybody had to sail the boat with a heavily flooded cockpit? How high does she ride? How well does she handle? How fast does the cockpit drain again? Any advice on handling her? I have not come close to being pooped, but I have always wondered if. Thanks for your comments.

what are you expecting?!

Gunter, The early "Cherubini" 27's have a fairly high cockpit/ transum and the drains work well. Where do you plan on sailing a 27 that you have to worry about getting swamped? I've sailed our 1980 up and down the Jersey coast in some "interesting" wave conditions and never came close to getting swamped.

great for kids

We would plug the drain and fill it until it almost drain into the cabin for a pool for the kids while sailing. any higher and it will drain into yoiur cabin. with about 6-8 inches in it was no problem sailing
