Props
Dimensioning the right propellar seems to be a job for a magician. HP, max revolutions, gearbox ratio, keel type and water line lenght etc. etc. have to be taken into consideration.
A Swedish propellar manufacturer says that a 13 x 8 1/2 (or 9)" is the right thing for the engine of my Vega: A 13,5 HP, gearbox ratio 2.1:1, max 3600 rpm.
I have had a 2-bladed folding prop this size for 4 years now and have no difficulties in reaching 7 knots at 2200 rpm. The water must be calm, no strong head winds and no mentionable current, of course!
Vega greetings
