Looking for recommendations on a surveyor in the Brunswick, ME area. Want a marine and mechanical guy with certification as the motor is the primary mystery. I think hourly will be the best route as the boat appears to have been well maintained and kept in ship shape.

The time line is next 7 to 14 days.

For a surveyor Tony Theriault is about as good as it gets. For an engine you want a good diesel mechanic, not necessarily a surveyor. Where is the boat located?

As for a diesel engineer, i have met one, he did a diesel survey on the boat i was selling and seemed good, cant remember his name but he does a lot of work at the Dolphin Marina, if you call them, ask for Billy or Chris and they will give you his details, 207 833 5343

Thanks for the advice people. Tony T was busy so he recommended a guy who was busy so that guy pointed me to Brian Hathaway who was of great assistance in the marine survey department. Brian's number is 207-781-4467.

The checking out of the diesel was done by John Pride Jr and Bill Hartley. These guys did some sleuthing to figure something out. Made me comfortable with a small abnormality. John's number is 207-738-1323. John came recommended for good reason.

So, I'm the newest owner of a 28' 1985 pilothouse sloop called an LM28.
