Had my old 1993 Hunter 33.5 surveyed last week, I bought it back, and during the survey he banged on the outside hull with a hammer and found a spot that sounded hollow while the rest of the hull sounded fine.

The " hollow sounding spot" is in the vicinity of the galley floor where he earlier found a puddle of water inside the boat.

The hollow sounding area, 12in x 12in, can be slightly depressed if pushed by hand.

It is not a blister.

Anyone ever have a similar problem ?

It is not uncommon to find a hollow sounding spot in older fiberglass boats. Hulls were laid up by hand, resulting in more resin in some areas, less in others. An area with insufficient resin from day one can result in a hollow, or void, between layers in the glass. However, a 12"x12" area is larger than is typically found.
Only you can decide if this area requires repair. Are their cracks on either the inside or outside of the hull around this area? Do you think the puddle has been there for years (where water intrusion could have caused this issue)? Is there a thru hull near by that could be leaking into the glass causing this issue?
Sorry for more questions than answers.
Let us know what else you learn.

Owned the boat for 10 years,I have had the bottom painted every two years and had it surveyed three years ago with no issues. Then I sold the boat 3 years ago to an owner who did nothing, no zinks, no paint, nada. Then I bought it back last week, survey found the hollow spot.
I have a guy who will look at the boat next week, known him well, its what he does.

The area that can be depressed - is that an inside liner or can it be depressed from outside. If the latter you may have a structural issue.

I agree with you. The area is the hull, starboard side under the area where the galley would be. Push the outside of the hull at that place and it can depressed very slightly.
Have a good guy to look at it, says if needed he can fix it.
