Allmand 31
Am currently on the way to Fla. from Connectiut in one of these boats. They are a pretty good boat, this one has a two cylinder Universal diesel in it, and is somewhat underpowred. We have had 20 - 25 knots on the nose all week, and are in the ICW, so have to motor. We can only make about a three knot average against these winds. Other than that is a good boat, if a little on the tender side, but not bad.

well built
Being well built was one of the better things about the Allmand. The interior and the room one has below deck is another plus for this size vessel.16 hp was underpowering it for sure.But then again it's a sailboat.Hope your trip is a dry one and lots of nice weather.I just love my Allmand.What are you meaning when you say tender side? I'm confused . These are really strong well built boats???? I really would like your opinion . The mast is stout and reinforced well tripple chain plates? thanks and have a safe journey
