Survey results, and mast-raising,

Chris Stevens, you posted the survey results. I think you are right
not to choose option 3, a complete remake. It would be fairly
costly and an enormous amount of time. There are occasionally for
sale, Vegas in good condition for reasonable amounts. That would
seem a better bet than a complete rebuild. Among the other two
choices, it would depend on your life-philosophy and also pocketbook.

I was going to mail you the guide on the Albin method of raising the
mast, but Thomas Hamill has put it in a file on this web-site, so
perhaps you can look at it there?

Thomas Hammill, thanks for posting that mast-raising guide. I read
it over and would not change anything. Except as I get older, the
third person becomes more important. Whoever (me) lifts or lowers
the mast at the stern, finds it more and more difficult to get from
the cockpit to the cabin roof or vice versa. It is easier with one
person in the cockpit and another on the roof for that minute or so
as the mast pivots.
