Sorry, I had to go before I could finish the last response.While I had found a very reputable, experienced surveyor, nothing substitutes for your own research. The surveyor should have experience with sailboats. No one can know every thing about all the boats there are. Tell your surveyor about what you have found out about that model boat you want to buy. For instance, the C 27 has certain upgrades that are worth while:chainplates, spreader bracket etc. The surveyor will look for these and write them up. If you have an inboard, ask the surveyor if he has experience with that engine.Just some additional thoughts.It may be worth getting a copy of the review that Practical Sailor has available.
