Surf's Up On The Pond Tonight

No I am on the main dock which is outside the lagoon. I am good unless the wind turns to the Southwest. It is high tide now and the waves are breaking over the docks. The wind is now 90 to the slips, and we have a good heel going.
I went down yesterday since the dinghy was still upside down tied to the dock from Sunday night when I didn't want to wait for it to dry off before deflating and stowing. When I got there I found that my floating cement dock that normally doesn't move under foot at all, and normally laughs at the inconsiderate power boats that think a 6-12" wake is the same as "no-wake" refusing to move more than a few mm, was in fact bucking up and down a full 8-12 inches, and the wind gusts at the dock were reading 40kts+.
I got the dinghy put away, put an extra bow line across the slip to the windward side, and then went around with the skipper of the 67' bertram that sits next to me and re-tied a few other boats dock lines that looked like they were in danger of breaking loose if left unatended for the night. Before heading out the bertram skipper loaned me a spare fender he uses when the storms blow him into the pier, it's one of those that is about 4 feet long and 2' thick, that was added in addition to the 3 fenders I already had against the pier, so I'm pretty confident that I rode out the storm without any problem. I'll be heading down this afternoon to confirm.

almost forgot, after securing the boat I ran over to the beach to take a couple pics of the surf coming in. This was around 4:30, so about 2/3 of the way to low tide... the surf had made it nearly to the parking lot earlier when the tide was up, and the white caps had been worse as well.
