Jack it up from the trailer
Steve: I assume your boat is on a trailer since you want to paint where it sets on the bunk boards. When I painted the bottom of my C22 I Jacked it up from the trailer and put blocks between the bunk boards and the boat. Then after painting the bottom and let it dry I re-jacked the boat, moved the blocks and painted the rest of the bottom. To jack the boat up I used a hydraulic bottle jack and placed it between the trailer frame and a short piece of 2X6 board placed against the bottom of the hull. I jacked up one side of the rear first and blocked it up about 6 to 8 inches, then repeted it on the other side, and finally jacked up the front under the center of the hull and blocked both sides. The whole process took less than an hour, and when I moved the blocks to paint the area where the boat was sitting them it only took about 30 minutes. Also to answer your question about stands, the marina where I keep my boat only supports C25's with 4 pads about 1 foot square.I hope this helps.Barry Broyles C22 # 1909 "Brighteyes"
