I have an Autohelm 4000. I can't find any reference whatsoever to this unit on the Raymarine website. I would sincerely appreciate continued support of older products. Could you please put product documentaiton and related information for older products on your site? If ot, please explain. Thanks, jv

Raymarine web site

John: It is interesting that I am able to navigate the entire website and download any owners manual using google as a search vehicle. I too have the ST4000 and downloaded the complete manual- 118 pages- with no difficulty except the time. It is a PDF file so you first have to have Adobe Acrobat reader but still no problem. Good luck and good sailing. Jim jimsullivan@qwest.net

Legacy Product Support

Unfortunately, the older product manuals were not produced in a digital format. Many of them have been scannned and converted to Adobe Acrobat format. The ST4000 Wheel Pilot manual is currently available in digital format. I would suggest requesting this via our support website at www.raymarine.com/support/index.htm . It is not posted with the new manuals (it probably needs some cleaning up) but one of our technician can e-mail it to you. Most of our technicians have been around and are able to answer questions on any of the older products. This website has a new question answering interface that is very organized and effective. If your question has been asked recently then you should probably find your answer here.

reply to the last two...

Thanks Jim, but I'm looking for support on the 4000, not the ST4000. Mine is the old black case Autohelm, non-seatalk (ST) pilot without the LCD display, etc. Belive me, I've been all over the Raymarine website - you'd never know that any of the pre-ST stuff ever existed. Bill, I have a manual. I am interested in other technical info, like interfacing with a GPS, schematics, discussions or explanaitons of the steering algorythms, upgrades and fixes, technical notes, etc., etc. My most recent experience with Raymarine tech support was hardly fulfilling. See my post in the discussion archives. I WAS able to repair the unit myself. By the way, why isnt the output short-circuit protected? So, if there is any info available that will help inform me, and extend the useful life of my gear, I would appreciate access to it. Regards, jv
