Hi Steve & all.

My overheating problems are over (fingers crossed) thanks to Steve B &
all who gave advice.

The engine temp gauge barely reaches 40 centigrade now even on a long
run & temp of engine block measured with digital thermometer was less
than 70 centigrade.

I'm advised by friends that I should fit a thermostat (there is none
fitted at present) as running the engine cool means

1) higher fuel consumption (I dont really care)
2) more contaminants left in lube oil to cause corrosion etc (I do care
if true)

Should I fit a thermostat?

I found a UK supplier last year but lost it - Steve can you advise?

Thanks

John

Volspec (google for their web-site) supplied me with one a couple of yesra ago; I think they\'re based in Essex. Not cheap though, it cost about £35.00; sadly the \'standard\' automotive ones are of fractionally larger diameter and I understand are set to open at a higher temperature than the MD6A ones.
