I'm convinced most of us are somewhat traditionalist when it comes to our boats . After far too long on her trailer I'm very much looking forward to a summer of sailing .I've been lead to believe that a coin under the mast will bring a great season .
So how does one go about choosing the proper coin ?

Traditionally it is a gold sovereign of the crown.

But that may make your boat worth more than you paid for it.

I think the poor man’s version is to use a dollar coin stamped with the same year as your boat. So I could use a 1979 Susan B Anthony dollar coin for my 1979 boat.
