just got my Daysailer yesterday and when cleaning it out I came across the SUPER SHUTE 90 bailer..on on the floor of the boat and one spare(I guess). Is there anywhere I can see how this thing works or is installed? I have a single drain from the deck out the stern and this thing seems to allow water to pass one direction into the void between inner and outer hulls. Need to understand.

A picture would help.
I'd try to "GOOGLE" Super Shute 90 Bailer, you may be supprised to find just the info you need. The other option, and possibly the better option is to post a question on hte Day Sailer Association web site on the forum pages. www.daysailer.org there are several owners of SLI Day Sailers in hte Association, and they live to assist a new DS owner.

There should be some sort of lever on the bailer to lower/raise the scoop that sucks hte water out. However, I admit that I'm more familiar with the Anderson-style bailer used on other boats (and even then I'm not as familiar with those as with the bailer installed on the DS II, as well as the SUNFISH [not SLI DS, but THE SUNFISH) as well as other Alcort built boats.

OK, I Googled it myself, and this bailer is basically the same as the Andersen one, just made of plastic instead of stainless-steel.
Lift the lever and it should allow you to push hte scoop down t odrain the water. WARNING: only do that while hte boat is on out of the water or is moving forward (yes, kind of goes without saying.... but ).
The screw-in plugs are to drain water out of the bilge while hauled out and to drain any condensation out of hte air-tanks used for flotation. (based on the instructions for the newer CCSB built Day Sailers.

Thanks for your help. Finally figured it out...I think. Based on your diagram my unit is installed backward. I had assumed that the part of the hull that contains it was double with a bilge. According to your diagram their is no bilge in that area so now it makes sense if I clean it up and turn it around I think it will work.
