Super cold machine

I have been given a 12volt Supercold machine that came out of a boat but didn't come with a cold plate. I want to install the type that can make ice cubes. my question is of how to charge the system once it is all installed and connected. I have not ordered the manual yet but since I am a complete novice at refrigeration, can you give me the short version on how it should go together and what to avoid. Installing a used SCM

There are several models of the Super Cold Machine so I will need to know the compressor model number before I can develop a installation and servicing guide for you.Before you invest in the evaporator you should test the condensing unit to see if it is OK. After I know what compressor you have I will tell you how to test it.What ever you do don’t bend the copper tubing any more than necessary. as each time it is bent it becomes harder. Ten bends of the tube and it fractures.I also need to know the distance from the battery busses to where the condensing unit is to be located and the size of the evaporator you plan to use. To set the unit up properly I need to your planed cruising area.
