On one of these sailing forums someone mentioned a sunblock that does not irritate your eyes but I've been unable to refind it. Does anyone know of a sun protection that does not irritate your eyes? Thanks

Sunblock for Faces

I use a sunblock for faces and my contacts survive. You might give it a try.

Kiddy stuff work well.

The stuff that they make for Kiddy's works well for your face.

Maybe I’ve missed something and presume that the sun block gets into your eyes via perspiration, not a direct application to the eyes. If I’m on the right track, suggest you try the sweat proof stuff from COPPERTONE. It also doesn’t stain your sails!!! Paul s/v The Lord Nelson

Yes

I was referring to the sweat running into your eyes after you applied the sun block. Thanks for your responses.

Wear a hat

I can sweat through any sweat-proof sunscreen when it gets really hot or I'm riding, hiking or otherwise perspiring heavily. Another approach is to never put sunblock on your forehead, but wear a baseball cap to shade it instead. I've found this works well even on highly reflective surfaces like snow and water.

Two approaches...

Coppertone Sport works well for me on my forehead. http://www.coppertone.com/prodselect.aspx?pgid=2 What works better though is not putting anything there and wearing my Tilley.
