I recently unbagged and laid out for cleaning a 150 genoa for my H 33 that I really hadn't examined since buying the boat a couple of years ago. Although the uv strip is in place on leach and foot, it evidently had been used earlier without the strip since the sail shows very serious deterioration at the leach and at the clew cringle. My question is it possible to rehabilitate such a sail? Who can do it?

Sailmaker / Loft / Repair

Take it to a sailmaker in your area. Ask around for recommendations. They can restitch or repair panels. Is it the cloth that is damaged or just the stitching? I had all my sails restitched on a previous boat and the result was wonderful. The cost was $90. Another time I had a new luff tape sewn on when I changed furlers and the luff track was a different size. A good sail loft can advise you. Wayne s/v Wind Drift h340
