Saw this article in the NY Times today (3/3/2016). Has anyone ever used this stuff? Seems like a good product to have onboard.

..."It can fix a broken statue, repair a frayed iphone cable, add a rubbery grip to a kitchen knife, make those Bose earphones fit better, fix a leaky boat"... "Sugru is a moldable glue. It looks like play-doh can be shaped around any object, sticks to almost any material, is water proof, heat resistant and dries to a silicone rubbery surface in 24 hours"...

Someone posted on here about sugru about 8 months ago and I purchased two packs. I have used it but not on my boat. I used it to fix a frayed power supply chord for my laptop. Worked great! It hardens to a semi-rigid rubber. I would think you could use it to make gaskets around fittings and/or ports.
