I own a 1981 Hunter 25 and would like to replace the port windows. The original ones are plastic and the mounts for the knobs that hold the window closed are cracking.

Replace with same.

You should find your portlights in the correct size at Pompanette(Related Link). Any other option will be very costly not to mention the work to customize an installation. Installed correctly they will serve you well for another 20+ years. A few of us have replaced with Newfound Metals portlights, either bronze or stainless. If I had it to do over again I would use the same old Grays.

Another option is to replace with Beckson.

I used Rain Drains. Same size as my original Grays. The water drains are a little further out toward the edges but close enough. The gaskets are better and they only have two levers that flip to open. Much faster. Same price. And that is negotiable too because Beckson is in all the marine stores. Go here, http://www.beckson.com/ Go to my web site to see them on my Hunter. There are peeks, before and after.

I'm with Fred on this one

The Beckson's on my 27 have been working great. I damaged a gasket and found replacement easy to find and reasonably priced Ward
