Stuffing Box Packing Sise??

I have a 1979 Hunter 30 and am getting redy to do a short haul and replace the stuffing box packing. Any idea what diameter packing to use. I entend to use the teflon type. Thanks. Ed

I have heard the teflon tape in murder on the shaft. I would suggest getting the Hunter reps opinion. You can e mail Hunter from the HOW home page.

You were right. I got with Hunter and had my answer the next day. The stuffing material is 1/4". They could not commit in favor or against the teflon packing. Thanks again. Ed
