Just reading about the stuffing and packing grease for Bene 370. Sails it needs to be done very year. What type of grease do you use for this? Is the stuff at WM ok?

Most Unusual ............................

.................... that you have some "unknown" packing that requires annual lubrication.

Many (maybe even most) packings today contain teflon in either solid or a well dispersed form in synthetic fibres. These materials do not need lubrication for the life of the packing.

If you ARE obsessed with lubricating the packing, the WM Syntef is a good lubricant but there are much cheaper (and equally as good) lubricants such as Super Lube.

Either way, a waste of time and money  .

Doesn't the boat have a patented no drip stuffing box? Most of them did. You then have to burp them on launch and put a bit of grease under the rubber seal. I think white lithium grease will do although Volvo (if it's a Volvo seal ) sell a tube of grease especially for their no drip seals.
