So the simplest solution is let it float out unless there's other restrictions about how soon you want it available to sail. About the same problem as laying on a Lee beach.

I think Mayhem heads up the Chicago river to a storage yard over the winter…so tides or high water will solve this I am afraid.

As his original post said….just for discussion, not intending to solve it.

Lots of good ideas….most focused on either raising the boat by floatation or lifting it by use of crane.

I think the bill would exceed the value of the boat by ten times or more.
If the owner was paying for it yes, but in this case, it's the yard, who's severely backed up and customers tanks and engines will soon be at risk for freezing.

There's actually a couple of companies next door that do marine construction and dredging. They have barges with cranes, if there's enough space to get in the yards small marina

Chicago Yacht works on the river closed at the end of spring. They treated their service staff like crap and raised prices by 25%. Customers left in droves. They had so few boats that they couldnt keep four service techs busy. They bought Sunset Bay on the Calumet River. We'll see if management will drive that one into the ground as well
