The covers on my cabin cushions are dirty. They seem to be in good shape, just in need of dry cleaning. So I thought I would take off the covers and send them to the cleaners. My problem is that the zippers are stuck. They zipper itself appears to be nylon, but the zipper pull mechanism is metal and appears corroded. I tried a little WD40 and a little Teflon/Silicone spray, but they aren't getting freed. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Stuck zippers

Have been there and done that, as the expression goes. The same thing happened to us on our Hunter 31. Cushions were only 3 years old and we wanted to clean the covers. Ours too, had nylon zippers, more like a skirt zipper than a commerical one. We had to replace all the zippers with a heavier type similiar to the zippers on our cockpit enclosure and dodger. No more problems.

still stuck

Briann, Were you ever able to get the zippers to even move a little? Mine are solidly stuck. Where did you have the new zippers installed? Upholstery shop? Do it yourself? Thanks! Sherry

Steam Clean

Just have them steam cleaned with the cushions in tack. I have done it several times.
