Stuck Centerboard

I have an Oday 20 and on last weekends trip discovered the centerboard was stuck in the up position. I swam under the boat and tried to free it with no luck. When the boat is on a trailer the centerboard is blocked by the trailer beam. It seems like the only solution is to jack the boat off the trailer and then try to free it. Has anyone done this? -Thanks

Stuck Centerboards

seems to be a common problem. In my experience, if your centerboard is stuck it's time to take a good look at "why". The best way is to raise the boat off the trailer with a lift and drop the cb for a thorough inspection. It may be stuck due to foreign material in the CB trunk or a damaged board. In either case it should be fixed. I had to repair the board on my O"Day 23. Good luck.
