So this might be the answer to Dahmer going out of business. If affordable it might be a good idea to have a spare. Mine is thirty years old and has been straightened once.
Does your son want this to be a business? Maybe he could advertise here on the SBO store. Not sure where else we can go to get a strut.

I am curious why they are not made from stainless steel. Most are made from bronze and are cast.

Humm, I think they made them out of bronze so that if they where hit hard enough or get tangled in lines, they would bend instead of ripping the hull appart... Since I already bend mine seriously, I'm not sure I would install one made out of stainless steel...
