the replacement V-strut from Dahmer Marine Hardware doesn't conform to the hull like the original. The V angles are slightly off and causes the shaft to bind in the cutless bearing. What is a suitable compound (epoxy,resin) to build out the area where the strut gets bolted. Can I sand and shape this compound so the strut can be situated in its optimum position. thank you
