Stress Cracks?

I am looking at a 1994 29.5. And before going to the next step of a survey was wondering about any experience with cracks near the mast. The boat in question has a number of small cracks radiating from the mast. They look like the could be the result of stress or even perhaps the mast was dropped on the gel-coat. Any others have like prolems? Is the a cause of concern?

Moisture damage?

The cracks may indicate stress on the deck. This may be due to a softening of the area around the mast step or a sagging of the compression post (less likely on this model). Have a VERY CLOSE look at the interior around the top and bottom of the compression post, the mast step. Have a moisture check of the area around and under the mast step to see if there has been any water damage or rot. It may not be a concern, but its something to watch.
