Plastic hull, stress cracks are located in the seats both sides under the mast cables. They are getting worse weekly.....any solutions? I don't think simply filling and sanding will help since this seems to be a weakness in the design....
I bought the boat used about 6 weeks ago.

I would call hunter.

Is it directly under the shroud? There is a plate with D rings on it where there are screws that penetrate the hull - I had some cracks right around my mast step and I filled them and had no issues. I think maybe any place where screws penetrate the plastic and then some stress is introduced can be a suspect area - I have also had a crack or two in the rudder area.

The cracks that I had were very small, easy to fill, surface level cracks - nothing like some of the real problems that some of these forum users have had. Really filling this type of crack is not much different than the upkeep on a fiberglass boat, I think it might be easier and happen less often.

I always fill them as soon as possible and certainly before winter - my fear is always water getting into the crack and freezing.

I am certainly not an expert - just a guy with a boat. I would call Hunter, maybe armed with some digital snapshots.

best of luck and enjoy the new boat!

Don't hesitate to contact Hunter Marine about this. They have repaired or replaced some with defects like these cracks. The ACP hulls are prone to stress cracks like you describe.
