Anyone else have the remainder of the season/year cut short related to low water levels? Obviously this doesn't include you guys in coastal areas. Lucky dogs! This is the second year in a row that I've had to strap the boat up on the concrete slip fingers :cussing:. I guess the only good thing is that I CAN strap the boat up on the concrete dock fingers... I guess if it gets dry enough, I can inspect the bottom. Check out the paint/keel etc. I just really like sailing and the better part of 2 years has either been spent in the dry slip or hanging dry in the wet slip. I know that I'm lucky, but it sure would be nice if we got a discount for non-sailable water levels. That would take the sting out of it somewhat. Here's hoping for better days to drink my rum with water under the boat :D

Pepto - if you are in OKC and if you can get your boat on a trailer and looking for a temporary fix, you might come over to Oolagah, just 30 minutes north of Tulsa. We have folks from OKC and the Wichita area sailing with us. I have 23' of water beneath the boat. You can check with Redbud Bay Marina for slip availability.

The h23s are considered trailerable boats so by all means trailer to deeper pastures.

The 23 wing keel is more difficult to get onto the trailer and did not come with a mast raising system as standard compared to the 23.5 water ballast.

Although it is trailerable, I'm not. I don't camp out on my little boat, although I did once. My sailings consist of 2-3 sometimes 4 hour jaunts around the lake. I love to sail but I don't love taking my boat out of the water. My wife is willing to help but mechanically disinclined. I have 3 younger kids that would be more underfoot than a help. Add that to a 37 year old trailer and I think you would see that its not that much of an enjoyable experience to translocate the boat.
Talk about the journey not the destination being the thrill of a trip! :D No, I will just keep praying for rain.

We're lucky - Lake Wallenpaupack is at normal water levels. It is an artificial lake owned by the power company, and services a rather archaic 1920's generator complex. They manage the levels, and we have not had extreme drought here.

I'm getting close to not making it into the dock but I'm still good at the mooring but we are pretty low. Owasco Lake, NYS.
