Strange rigging problem

Hi all. I've had mast up and down a couple of times in last month. Since then I've noticed that to tighten the starboard shrouds I need to use the full extent of the bottle screws. To tighten Port shrouds I only need about a third of port bottle screws travel.
So what's wrong?
Seems unlikely that port sidedeck has gone down and starboard up??
Has mast gone slightly out of column so I need to pull it to port by heavily tightening the already tight port shrouds???

Suggestions please.

Hi Brian I measured them as well as I could when mast was down and they seem to be equal in length.
I should have said forward shroud bottle screws seem about equal travel port and starboard.
Dramatic difference is in centre (upper) and after shrouds port and starboard.
I reinforced the mast support beam two years ago with ss plate so unlikely to be hull distortion?
Mast not straight?

Thanks for comments

John

Hi John

Brain storm of ideas.

Is the mast bent? Sight up the mast track and see if it is curved.
Is the problem on the cap shroud only or on the lowers as well.
Are the swage ends aligned or are they kinked.
Is the mast at right angle to the deck of leaning over.

When the mast is up and you think it is straight take a halyard out to a
known point on the beam, maybe a chainplate and mark it. Take the same
halyard out to the other side and see if the 2 measurements are the same.
That is all I can think of.

Hi Brian I'll measure as you suggest.
I suppose I'm asking what to do if mast not straight?

Straight or properly centered in the boat? Straightness can be determined by
sighting up the mainsail track. Proper centering can be accomplished by
loosening one shroud and tightening its opposite.

Also, might be worth checking if you've slightly bent a spreader and that
the shrouds are properly seated in the spreader ends?
