I have recently taken delivery on my Catalina 350. Has anyone with a 350 or any other model that has factory installed heat/air conditioning found that there is not a strainer between the intake and the unit? I am concerned about jelly fish, plastic, sea grass, etc getting into the unit. I have been told by the manufacturer that the unit will churn up jelly fish. But what about anything else that gets lodged in the unit? If anyone has the same problem, what have you done to correct it or plan to do?

Need strainer

There SHOULD be a strainer on the A/C intake line, before the pump. Any diagram explaining the proper set up shows such an item. My Marine Air unit installation instructions shows this. Sounds like you have a new boat, I would ask the dealer to install one at no cost to you. rp.

Thank you RP.

Thank you for your info. I was sure that there should be a strainer but the manufacturer said it will churn up jellyfish. Hopefully they will put a strainer on. I don't want problems down the road and it becomes an Oooops on their part.
