Hi, I am the new owener of a 1977 Catalina 22 with pop top, and was wondering if anyone out here would have blueprints or input on how to construct a Stow away gallee. The concept seems simple enough, but I was wondering if someone has built it from scratch. Thanks.

There is one for sale in the classifieds on this

site, might be as cheap as making one. I've attached the link here.

I built one

When I had my 22' I built a slide away galley. Sorry I lost the pictures I had of it. I took measurements of one on another boat and made some improvements. Water was in a 5 gallon container in the locker under the cockpit. I'm sure for $595.00 you can get some 1/2" plywood, resin, a sink and faucet, some foam insulation.

galley

Most of the folks around here gave them away, keep your eyes open in your area, check with your local fleet. Racers hate them (too heavy) so there plenty out there, 600.00 way too much IMO but I guess it depends on how bad one wants one. myself a cruiser and I don't use one either. Shipping is a killer on it as well. Do a search on google I remember someone out west making one from wood that was super nice.

Sliding galley

I didn't like the sliding unit that came with the Catalina 22 in 1970. I built my own out of 1"x1" wood frame, I covered the sides with Lanau paneling. I have two drawers a sink that drains to the funnel, and I gimbled the one burner stove. This unit is light weight. The unit is held in by three Molley screws. Just unscrew the three screws about 4 turns and the unit slides under the starboard cockpit seat. I don't have any plans. I have used it for about 10 years. The two drawers are for the silverware and cooking pots. fair winds AL
