This seems stupid - but here goes. My boat is being delivereed from Mystic to Charleston by a captain and crew. They can't light the stove except with a match. I belive that the battery to the ignitor must be dead. the boat is a new model (426)with a two butner LP gas stove - Orgio? SP?. I remember being shown where the ignitor battery goes - but can't get a mental image of where that is. Any one that can give me a good specific description of wher3e to find it I will pass on to the crew. If I were on the boat I am sure it would come to mebut alas I am not. I do remeber that it isn't in a spot that is that intuative. Thanks for any help.

Push button?

If there is an ignition push button try unscrewing this mounting ring. Sometimes the battery inserts there.

piezoelectric igniter?

From a definition: "Piezoelectric Igniters is an application of unique characteristics of piezoelectric ceramics: when they are stressed mechanically by a force, piezoelectric ceramics generate electric charge " That is - no battery.... These are the standard igniters used on boats because they work well even in high humidity environments. If yours is not working, it might need replacement. Check at the big-depot-type home improvement centers near the grills, or contact the stove manufacturer.

No, it is electric

No, it is not a piezo electric ignitor. It has a small battery that sends a spark to the burner. I just don't have the stove in front of me to remember where the battery goes. just trying to help the captain out. By this weekend the boat will be here and I will change the battery after I see the stove and remember where it goes. I assume it is the same on all new Hunters over 35 feet. Just thought someone out there would know where it goes. I remember it is not "intuative" and it is in the front of the stove somewhere.
