Well, we purchased our 1986 Hunter 23 !! Can't wait for Spring... Any suggestions as to how to store the cushions for winter? We live in the country, mice are a problem and I don't want to find the cushions ruined - they are like new... Have heard that mothballs will keep them out - any other ideas? Jack Kelly.

Mice

We live in the country too. I have not had any mice get into the boat yet. They would have to crawl up the trailer and then somehow crawl into the boat. I think if to keep you hatches shut you will be fine. We also have four cats that help with the mice.

mothballs

Mice can get on boats. Several years back a storage neighbor had his cushions torn up and another storage neighbor told us that he uses mothballs. I use them now and have never had mice. I'm not sure that it's the mothballs, but I know a lot of people use them. I've never had an elephant either, though, so apparently they work for elephants, too! Good luck.

Take them off the boat

...and open the under-seat storage spaces so you have good ar circulation. If you can't take the cushions off the boat, stand them on edge so you can still get some air underneath. Peter H23 "Raven"
